Fairchild Solution Focus: Industrial Power, Automotive, LED Lighting and DC-DC Conversion Solutions.

Visit us at PCIM Europe and see Fairchild in Motion with live demonstrations; enjoy in-depth papers and presentations throughout the conference. You can also arrange a private meeting with our power experts.

Efficiency, reliability, and thermal performance, along with reducing noise and board space and ease of design, are critical challenges for motor control architectures. Designers commonly choose AC Induction Motors (ACIM), brushed and brushless DC, stepper and Permanent Magnet Synchronous (PMSM) to meet these challenges. However, choosing the right components for the system is also critical to the success of the design.

During the show, demos will focus on motion control applications such as: 3-Phase Motors, Single-Phase AC Input Motors, Low/Medium Voltage Motors, Low Voltage DC Input Motors and Automotive Motors

Other demonstrations at the show include LED light solutions (dimmable and non-dimmable), industrial power solutions; Opto/IGBT/SiC driver boards; wide-input range power supply solutions using SiC 2kW LLC board; and DC-DC conversion demos with superior thermal regulation.

Fairchild experts will also present on power semiconductor solutions during the show. Sessions include:

Topic:  Highly Efficient and Reliable Discrete Solutions for AC-DC SMPS Applications Design: SuperFET® II MOSFET Series

Registration Link: http://seminar.21ic.com/meeting/detail?meeting_id=124

In this webinar, we will introduce Fairchild’s new generation of Super-Junction MOSFET, SuperFET® II MOSFETs and how they can minimize your design effort and maximize system efficiency and reliability in AC-DC SMPS applications.

Due to constantly growing speed and power requirements of data processing, AC-DC SMPS designers face the challenge of improving system efficiencies and power densities. Fairchild’s new Super-Junction (SJ) MOSFETs address the variety of design challenges concurrently. SJ MOSFETs, based on charge-balanced technology, offer outstanding performance in both on-resistance and parasitic capacitances, which usually are a trade-off. With smaller parasitic capacitances, the super-junction MOSFETs have extremely fast switching characteristics and therefore reduced switching losses. However, without dv/dt control, the drain-source voltage slew rate reaching up to 100V/ns. Additionally, this could lead to EMI problems and unstable operation related to the stray parasitic in devices (or printed circuit boards) and non-linear parasitic capacitances of super-junction MOSFET in switching mode power supplies. Fairchild’s new generation super-junction MOSFET, SuperFET® II devices enable fast switching and low switching noise to achieve high efficiency and low EMI in applications due to its optimized design of SuperFET® II MOSFET.

Join Fairchild's technical expert, H.S. Song, for an on-line webinar where he will present "Simplifying BLDC Motor Control Designs." This webinar will explore Fairchild’s hybrid BLDC/PMSM solutions.

Motor control application designers are now moving away from the traditional universal, or AC motor design, to a more sophisticated brushless DC (BLDC) motor or permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) design. However, engineers who must convert AC motor controls to a BLDC/PMSM solution face such significant challenges such as developing complex electronic control algorithms and the daunting task of transforming complicated mathematical computation into software coding.

Fairchild’s hybrid BLDC/PMSM solution represents the industry’s highest level of hardware and software integration. In this webinar, we will introduce the new parallel processing architecture and how it can minimize your design effort in PMSM/BLDC motor applications.
