Fairchild Semiconductor Named a Top Supplier by China's Leading OEM/EMS Companies

San Jose, California – November 12, 2009 – Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance products that enable energy-efficiency, has been selected as one of China’s leading suppliers in the highly competitive discrete semiconductor category at this year’s China Market Electronics Component Manufacturer Awards (CMECMA).

CMECMA is part of an annual industry survey that measures purchasing preferences of key decision makers at OEM/EMS companies. The survey also benchmarks the performance of international and local component manufacturers that have established business operations in China. These awards are arranged by China Electronic Market magazine in conjunction with Cntronics.com and the China Electronics Fair's organizing committee.

This year 1,786 people responded to the survey which asked them to evaluate suppliers based on how well each company addressed the following criteria targeting the China market: brand building strategy; how well product portfolio meets customers’ needs; competitive advantages of technologies; product quality control; delivery capabilities; technical support; cost/performance ratio and the localization of R&D operations.

Fairchild received the award at a ceremony on November 11 at the China Electronics Fair in Shenzhen.
