Fairchild Semiconductor to Hold Emergency Response Exercise on September 30
Drill is Part of Fairchild’s Emergency Response Team Readiness;
SOUTH PORTLAND, ME. – September 29, 2010 – Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS) will hold an Emergency Response Team (ERT) exercise on September 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the 333 Western Avenue facility. The exercise will involve the South Portland Fire and Rescue, including all related equipment, Fairchild’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and hazmat teams. Timely execution of the emergency plan is a key element of the exercise, with the majority of the exercise being held in Fairchild’s front parking lot.
Fairchild’s Emergency Response Team was developed in 1989 and established a close working relationship in 1991 with the South Portland Fire and Rescue to ensure optimal safety for all employees.
Fairchild routinely trains with the South Portland Fire and Rescue department, and has helped purchase equipment, assisted the local fire departments with hazmat incidents and participated in the South Portland and Portland Fire Department's hazmat exercise.
