Fairchild Korea Semiconductor Encourages Technology Innovation with
6th Annual University Paper Contest
SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 30, 2011 – Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance power and mobile products, will again seek paper submissions from under graduate and graduate students for the sixth annual 'Fairchild Paper Contest.' The purpose of the contest is to encourage innovation and identify technology opportunities, and individuals, who can help shape the future of the company.
The theme for this year's paper contest is "Power Semiconductors and Smart Grid technology." Papers should discuss issues, case studies and other related items to the theme and can be submitted in Korean or English. Participants will present their ideas to a panel of judges, including renowned professors and Fairchild senior engineers who will evaluate the submissions based on originality and quality of paper as well as relevance to the theme.
In 2010 the grand prize winner was titled "A Highly-Digitized Software-Defined Radio Receiver Using Time-Based ADC with a Second-Order Anti-Aliasing Filter."
"Fairchild Korea has been hosting this contest since 2006 to identify talented individuals who can contribute to the development of the semiconductor industry and Fairchild technology," said Don Kim, Fairchild's director of Human Resource. "We are pleased and proud to see these participants present their competences in the industry."
The submission period will run from 5 September to 16 October 2011. Under graduate and graduate students in Korea and abroad can showcase their talents by participating in the paper contest. Participation in this contest is done on an individual or a team basis. Please contact your local University or Fairchild Korea Semiconductor for details on how to submit a paper.
