Fairchild Semiconductor Receives Best Supplier Award from Eaton Asia Pacific

Award underlines Fairchild's outstanding ability to provide a complete solution for its strategic partners in Asia

SAN JOSE, Calif. – November 9, 2011 – Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high-performance power and mobile products, recently received the 2011 Best Supplier Award from Eaton Asia Pacific, a US based company with the regional headquarter in Shanghai. Eaton has more than 30 years of experience as a component supplier for single- and three-phase UPS, telecom equipment, and inverters for the PV and consumer segments.

The key criteria for the Best Supplier Award were customer service, prompt delivery, product quality and reliability, cost management, and innovative solutions and support. Fairchild satisfied all of these requirements including an exceptional quality level of 0 Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) and an On-Time-Delivery (OTD) rating of 98.01 percent, leading Eaton to rank Fairchild as its number one semiconductor supplier.

Fairchild has developed a close relationship with Eaton Asia Pacific. Notably, Fairchild solutions have been designed into their high efficiency inverter products for the photovoltaic (PV) market. Year 2010 saw high demand for solar energy technology, and Fairchild solved the delivery issues this entailed, supporting new project development and time to market with a broad portfolio of IGBT, MOSFET, diode and optocoupler components. Fairchild's complete product portfolio of FS-IGBT, SuperFET® MOSFETs, PowerTrench® MOSFETs, STEALTH™ II Diodes and high speed opto driver IC solutions has been incorporated in Eaton's highly efficient online UPS, solar inverter and PDU products. In total, use of Fairchild components represented a cost savings of U.S. $214,000 for Eaton's PV business in 2010.
