Fairchild Semiconductor Acquires Signal Processing Technologies (SPT)

The acquisition of Signal Processing Technologies (SPT) increases Fairchild Semiconductor's product portfolio into video imaging, communications, and instrumentation market segments. With a focus on the high-end of the resolution/speed curve, SPT supplies high performance monolithic analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and comparators that are the "heart" or "signal chain" in key applications such as high-end consumer video, digital still cameras, digital camcorders, infrared imaging, cellular base stations and infrastructure, data over cellular and wireless ATM, radar equipment, ATE memory testers, and industrial process control.

By combining SPT technologies and its own world-class manufacturing processes, Fairchild is well positioned to effectively address the high-performance signal chain needs of high growth consumer markets & applications in a cost-effective manner, as well as leverage the established customer base that each company has.
