Overview

Fairchild's HVICs Provide Energy Efficiency, Reliability and Space-savings in a Range of Applications

Fairchild’s HVICs improve system reliability by using an innovative noise canceling circuit that provides excellent noise immunity. HVIC solutions save at least 50% PCB area compared to commonly used optocoupler-based or pulse transformer-based solutions. The industry-leading, high-side driver operation with negative VS swings of up to -9.8V (at VBS = 15V) protect the HVIC against negative noise. Competitive products must use an additional diode to provide this. These HVIC products feature the industry's lowest quiescent currents resulting in extremely low power consumption and the the market’s lowest temperature dependency of electrical characteristics guaranteeing stable operation in a wide range of applications.

Features and Benefits

Better noise immunity (Due to noise canceling circuit over high dv/dt common-mode noise)
Extended allowable negative vs. swing to -9.8V for signal propagation @VCC=VBS=15V
Low power consumption (Due to low quiescent current issues, IQBS/IQCC is lower than the competition)
UVLO functions for both channels with noise cancellation (<20µs)
TTL compatible input logic threshold levels
Matched propagation delay below 50nsec
Automotive application dedicated functions:
Built-in recharge
Input filter
One pin solution for dead time & shut-down
Flexible input stage
Extended negative going under voltage threshold down to 3.4V
