About Switch Fabric Interconnect
Switch Fabric Interconnect (SFI) technology enables increased bandwidth, greater
reliability and flexibility for backplanes and interconnect. As multipoint solutions
such as buses are increasingly replaced with point-to-point interconnects, SFI is evolving
from a niche technology to a mainstream solution. SFI is now implemented in a wide range
of applications such as servers, storage, networking, telecommunications, test, and multi-service
access equipment.
Fairchild's SFI portfolio now includes several crosspoint switches, physical layer devices,
and differential signaling products based on LVDS and ECL signaling. These products offer
industry leading solutions such as low power, high port count, flexible testability, and
ultra-small packaging.
