Fairchild's Offerings

A camera switch portfolio that solves compelling design challenges for designers of 3G smart phones, cell phones, set-top boxes, security cameras and notebooks.

Strong Isolation. With higher frequency cell phones such as smart phones, there is a need to manage parasitics for optimal signal integrity and as cameras within these phones move to higher resolutions, parasitic components can easily deteriorate signals. Fairchild answered this challenge with the industry’s first image module (the FSA1211) to isolate parasitic components.

Multi-Interface Handling Capability. In order to comply with multiple camera interface such as MDDI, MIPI, and YUV, Fairchild has a number of solutions to solve this such as the FSA642.

Design Flexibility. Place the image processor anywhere by the board by serializing this technology and the added ability of isolation such as with Fairchild’s µSerDes™ solutions, the FIN212 and FIN210

Reduced EMI.  As 3G phones move to higher frequencies, this inherently generates unwanted EMI.  Fairchild has a number of products that tackle this issue including the FSA1211, which reduces the radiated EMI of the signal path to also improve RF desense.

Lower overall on capacitance.  Since a vexing challenge for designers is reducing the overall on capacitance in portable designs, Fairchild has developed camera switch solutions that feature a low on capacitance to accommodate a faster data rate and to lower the overall on capacitance.

Robust ESD protection.  Fairchild’s solutions offer the some of the highest ESD ratings in the industry for strong insurance against adverse ESD events.
