1W to 10W Single Output Isolated Flyback

580 million mobile phones are projected to be built in 2004, each of these phones require a SMPS for recharging. In typical use the power supply is left connected to the AC line while not in use. During this no-load or standby time a traditional SMPS will consume Watts of power. This no-load energy when multiplied by the number of phones and hours in standby add up to Megawatts of wasted energy. Fairchild has designed Green FPS™ with burst mode operation which can reduce the standby power to less than 1W.
