Fairchild’s new family of LED Direct AC Drives provide the simplest, most cost-effective lighting solutions with best-in-class light quality that meets high PF and low THD requirements, along with phase-cut dimming, analog dimming and PWM dimming compatibility as needed for connected smart commercial/industrial lighting applications. Compared to other lighting solutions, these Direct AC Drive products enable smaller solutions that are easier to implement.

This presentation will review the FL77900 family and detail reference design performance. It will show how Fairchild provides solid-state lighting solutions with small form factors, excellent performance, and longer system lifetimes. Power can scale from 12W to 120W, reducing the number of different ICs needed in inventory. Unlike traditional SMPS solutions, these drivers do not need magnetic components and electrolytic caps, enabling them to fit into tight spaces and increase system lifetimes. They can also be tuned for low flicker without compromising the PF and THD performance.
