Motion SPM® Product Portfolio

SPM 2 series

Targets high power applications up to 75A/600V and up to 35A/1200VSense-IGBT’s on low-side for over-current protection and a built-in thermistor for temperature monitoring. 15A – 30A modules in ceramic substrate packaging. 50A, 75A 600V and 1200V modules in Direct Bond Copper (DBC) substrate packaging to reduce thermal impedance. 

  • FNAxx: 1200V low conduction loss for 3-Phase DC-AC conversion
  • FSAMxx SM: SM indicates 600V mid switching frequency and low conduction loss.
  • FSAMxx SH: SH indicates 600V high switching frequency and low switching loss.

SPM 3 series

Targets a wide range of power applications from 3A to 30A/600V and up to 10A/1200V; e.g. HVAC, commercial air conditioner, compact industrial level inverter, servo-driver, fan motor, and pump.

SPM 3 V2 series requires external pin connections between Vs and U/V/W output respectively.

  • FSBSxxCHxx: S indicates ceramic substrate packaging for the 3A, 5A, 10A, 15A, and 25A modules.
  • FSBBxxCHxx: B indicates Direct Bond Copper (DBC) substrate packaging for the 15A, 20A, and 30A modules.

SPM 3 V4 series has an internal connection for Vs, built-in bootstrap diodes and over-temperature protection.

  • FSBFxxCHxxB: F and B indicate Full Pack substrate for 3A, 5A, 10A, and 15 A.
  • FSBBxxCHxxC: B and C indicate Direct Bond Copper substrate packaging for 15A, 20A,and 30A modules.

SPM 45 series

Targets cost sensitive applications below 20A in ceramic substrate packaging with built-in bootstrap diodes and thermistor for temperature monitoring. Input gate signals are active high.

  • FNA/FNC has lower conduction loss and is recommended for around 5 kHz switching frequency applications.
  • FNB has lower switching loss and is recommended for around 15 kHz switching applications.
  • FSB44104A with 40V power-trench technology MOSFETs for higher switching frequency and low voltage battery applications

SPM 5 series

Targets compact lower power motor control applications up to 200W; e.g. refrigerator, fan and water pump. The SPM 5 series is composed of six super-junction or planar technology FRFET® MOSFET or FRFET® MOSFET and half-bridge gate driver IC’s. 600V, 500V, 250V and 60V modules are available. Input gate signals are active high. Package lead options includes DIP, double-DIP, surface mount, and ziz-zag (see ordering information)

SPM 5 V1 series has six planar technology FRFET® MOSFETs (500V, 250V, 60V) without boot-strap diode and requires external pin connections between Vs and U/V/W output respectively. Except FSB5xx50T.

SPM 5 V1.5 series has six planar technology FRFET® MOSFETs (500V, 250V) with and without boot-strap diode integrated options and requires external pin connections between Vs and U/V/W output respectively . Except FSB5XX50UTD

SPM 5 V2 series has a six super-junction technology FRFET® MOSFETs (500V), built-in bootstrap diodes, thermal sensing function(Vts) and internal connection for Vs.

SPM 5 SuperFET® series has six super-junction technology SuperFET® FRFET® MOSFETs (600V), built-in boot-strap diodes, thermal sensing function, and internal connection for Vs.

SPM 55 Series

Targets compact lower power motor control applications between 200W to 1kW; e.g. small (duct-type) fans, dishwasher, small air conditioner (up to 1.5 horsepower), top/front loading washing machines, and refrigerators. The SPM 55 series integrates 600V field-stop trench IGBTs, stealth diode with extended short circuit withstand time, half-bridge gate driver IC's. Low conduction and low switching loss options are offered.

SPM 7 series

Targets compact lower power motor control applications up to 50W; e.g. small (pedestal and ceiling) fan motors, air conditioner indoor/outdoor fans, and water pump. The SPM 7 series is composed of  FRFET® MOSFET and half-bridge gate driver IC’s. 250V and 500V modules are available in PQFN package to save up to 50% board space, minimize EMI and losses.

SPM 8 Series

Targets compact motor control applications such as industrial fans, pumps, washing machines, and refrigerators. The SPM 8 series integrates 600V Field Stop trench IGBTs, stealth diodes with extended short circuit withstand time, and three (3) half-bridge gate driver IC's. Separate negative IGBT terminals are available for each phase to support the widest variety of control algorithms.
